Well I’ve finally found some time to add my Space Wolf Battle Leader. It was my entry into the 40K Single Miniature Category at Golden Demon UK’10. I was over the moon to get a silver demon for this entry, in one of the toughest categories. It took me over 100 hours from start to finish, which I crammed into two weeks before the competition. It is heavily converted from the Kor’Sarro White Scars Character miniature.

Some close ups of the freehand on the shoulder pads. I wanted him to be a Wolf Guard Battle Leader so gave him the yellow and black insignia on his right shoulder pad and he is from Ragnar’s Company so I gave him a freehand black wolf head on yellow background.
For the base I wanted to try a new style that I had seen one of my favourite painters, David Rodriguez Garcia ‘Karaikal’ use quite a lot. The angle on the edge of the base is carried up through the detail, I think it makes it look like the miniature is part of a much bigger scene rather than just sitting on a base.
