Hey everyone! I'm Wiltrichs, welcome to the official website and shop for my YouTube channel Wiltrichs Miniature Art!
I talk about all things miniature painting. I'm a miniature painter and wannabe sculptor from the UK and I've been painting wargaming miniatures for over 30 years.
My style of painting is similar to what has come to be known as the 'Eavy Metal style of painting. I've never been lucky enough to work for the legendary team, but I love their work and try to emulate it as best I can in my own painting.

Who am I?
I am a miniature painter/self confessed toy soldier fanatic, living in United Kingdom.
I first started painting and playing wargames with Games Workshop miniatures back in February 1993.
Although you could probably say I'd been in the wargaming hobby for a few years previous to that as I first started collecting 1:72 scale American Civil War and Napoleonic miniatures made by companies like Revell and Italeri. But at the time, probably about 7-8 years old I didn't realise you could play actual wargames with them, so to me they were just my 'army' men I'd set up and play using my imagination.
Fast forward to 2006 and I decided to enter my first painting competition and since then I have won a number of painting competitions and awards.
I have always been creative and I have loved getting lost in my own little world of doodles and drawings since I was in nappies. I discovered wargaming when I was 11 years old, I could combine toy soldiers and painting so I was immediately hooked. My passions also include learning 3D Modelling and Sculpting (although I would have to describe myself as a rookie at both… at best).
Why do I have a YouTube channel?
Narcissism? Probably! I probably watched way too much
But in all seriousness I'm a very private person, a bit of an introvert and don't like being the centre of attention, so you're not going to be seeing me on camera anytime soon... just hands is fine for me.
A YouTube channel is probably not the first thing people who know me well would think I'd want to do. But I first started creating painting tutorials way back in 2010 on the blog I had at the time, before social media was really a thing. So, moving with the times, after a few years of umming and ahing about it, a big dose of procrastination and YouTube felt like the next logical step, so I took the plunge.
Wiltrichs Miniature Art and Wiltrichs.com are my outlets, my personal slice of the web where I can post videos and tutorials, my ramblings, share examples of my work, ongoing projects, maybe some random life updates, possibly the occasional rant and the odd video.
For me personally, this hobby is a creative umbrella that allows me to explore lots of other side hobbies besides miniature painting; traditional sculpting, digital sculpting, 3D printing, scenery building, mould making, resin casting, photography, videography, graphic design, electronics, coding etc.
I've always been a creative person and this hobby allows me to scratch that creative itch.

- Creative Digital Tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects, Lightroom, Zbrush & Blender
